Namaqua Elementary
Principal: Rick Bowles

Name/History: The school is named after Marianna Medina's daughter. Medina was one of Loveland's first settlers. Namaqua means "near water."

Mission Statement: Each student at Namaqua will be actively involved in purposeful, creative, and on-going learning experiences that foster confidence and positive self-esteem through academic success.

Inspiration - Namaqua Elementary focuses on inspiring the whole child to excel. Each teacher builds learning communities where relationships grow while students acquire skills and knowledge to be successful in life. Additionally, our amazing art, music, and PE teachers expand talents in our students which are celebrated through musical performances, talent shows, art shows/displays, Schools on the Move, and field day. Furthermore, the staff consciously integrates critical thinking throughout.

Positive Behavior Support - Through Positive Behavior Support (PBS), the staff at Namaqua fosters positive choices by students. The students are rewarded for following ROAR (Respect, On-task, Attitude to Achieve, and Responsibility) behaviors with "ROAR Paws" that they can trade for special perks at school ranging from lunch with the principal, extra computer lab time, items from the ROAR store, and many more.

Parent community - Our parent community is pivotal in making Namaqua an amazing school. Through hours of support behind the scenes as well as direct involvement within the school and classroom, volunteers make a significant difference here.

High expectations - Teachers at Namaqua are continual learners engaged in ongoing educational courses and/or professional development. Namaqua has high expectations for staff and students which are refined through Professional Learning Communities, where teachers work collaboratively to challenge each student to achieve.

Excellence - As excellence for each student is the goal, teachers at Namaqua work to refine instruction by using student data. The data drives teacher instruction as well as determining appropriate interventions. Through the examination and response to student data, teachers are better able to empower each student to learn!
