Mission Statement: The mission of Edmondson Elementary is to create a learning environment focused on academic and social skills enabling all students to be successful, while modeling a commitment to the life-long learning process.

Sense of community - We have a strong sense of community at Edmondson. Anyone walking into Edmondson feels welcomed by the warm, family-like atmosphere. We are all very close and work well together.

Technology - Our use of technology is strong. Kindergarten and 1st grade utilize a modified Write-to-Read lab setting to improve both reading and writing. Students in 2nd to 5th grades are in our Mac lab four to five times a week utilizing technology to enhance their learning.

Science - We are not called a school of science, but we do a great deal of science. All of our students have science journals that they write in on a regular basis when experimenting or just thinking about things they would like to find answers to. The principal has done science lessons every other week in each classroom and we started our Science Olympiad. This is an evening of science fun and learning for students and parents.

Collaboration - Through a grant we obtained in 2009 we have started a collaboration model (for the improvement of instruction) that we hope we can continue. Every other Tuesday all of our primary teachers meet in the morning and intermediate teachers meet in the afternoon to collaborate and discuss effective instruction. We have the same substitutes each Tuesday and they have additional time to work with students one on one and in small groups..

Positive Behavior Support - Our PBS program has made big strides towards improving an already positive environment for students and staff. Our RRF (Respect, Responsibility and Fair-minded) motto is well known by all members of our school community. We have student/staff lunches, Golden Horseshoe awards, Spirit Bucks and a store to spend them at. We also have weekly and quarterly drawings for movie baskets and gift cards. We also have a staff drawing monthly for gift cards. Everyone is working hard to be RRF.
